Hazelnut Crunch Chocolate Truffles are one of Booja-Booja’s most loved chocolate enjoyments, having won 13 individual awards since their inception. These melt-in-your-mouth chocolates, made with sweet roasted hazelnuts, have been acclaimed far and wide. Organic, dairy free, gluten & soya free, and one of Mister Booja-Booja’s very first culinary creations, they won their first award in 1999, the year The Booja-Booja Company Ltd was founded. The Soil Association Organic Food Awards were the first to recognise the utter deliciousness of this exquisite chocolate delight, which is still going strong almost 20 years later.
Hazelnut Crunch Chocolate Truffles have won four Gold Great Taste Awards in 2001, 2002, 2011 and 2016. Great Taste, organised by the Guild of Fine Food, is the acknowledged UK benchmark for fine food and drink. Great Taste Awards have been described as the ‘Oscars’ of the food world and the ‘epicurean equivalent of the Booker prize. Shoppers can take note that the Great Taste logo is quite simply recognised to be the sign you can trust when buying food and drink.
In 2018 Hazelnut Crunch Chocolate Truffles won Gold in the Confectionery & Chocolate Category in the FreeFrom Food Awards 2018 and were one of the overall runners up. Judges commented, ‘Great balance of flavour between hazelnut and chocolate – great quality.’ ‘Feels luxurious – good even shape, delicate taste but good crunch of hazelnuts.’ ‘Very pure ingredients – really lovely flavour and melts so well in the mouth.’
In 2017, the delicious truffles won Best Organic Confectionery at the prestigious Soil Association’s Best of Organic Market Awards (BOOMs) and were on the short-list in the search for the nation’s favourite organic product too.
Hazelnut Crunch Chocolate Truffles also came top in 2016 in the Confectionery & Chocolate category in the FreeFrom Food Awards 2016, and were an overall runner up as well. Judges commented, ‘Rich flavour, great size, delicious to eat. A slightly bitter aftertaste with a very ‘adult’ appeal – love that they are dairy and soya free. Quite, quite delicious: delicate crisp outer shell, to-die-for subtle-flavoured filling….’

Presented in elegant gold-edged fully recyclable cardboard boxes found on the free from shelves in Waitrose and Sainsbury’s, they occupy an enviable position as the only premium, luxury, free from chocolates currently available. Five Hazelnut Crunch Truffles can be found in the 20-chocolate Booja-Booja Gourmet Collection box, alongside flavours including Fine de Champagne, Stem Ginger, Around Midnight Espresso and Cherry Cognac, all sealed into their pods to prevent neighbouring flavours intermingling.
In early 2015, Hazelnut Crunch Chocolate Truffles became part of Booja-Booja’s chilled chocolate truffle range, available in an easy to open 6 pack, ideal for treating yourself or sharing with friends if you’re feeling friendly and a two truffle pack, perfect for eating on the go.
