November is World Vegan Month so not only is it the perfect time to celebrate all things vegan but it’s just in time to bring you some great inspiration for a cruelty free Christmas! There’s lots going on this month from festivals and shopping fairs to campaigns and competitions. Try going vegan by taking the 30-day Pledge. Sign up on the Vegan Society website and you’ll get support, advice and links to recipes and resources to help make the transition to a new way of life easier and simpler. And if you need a little extra motivation, remember all Booja-Booja products are vegan so why not reward yourself each day with a truffle or a scoop of your favourite Ice Cream Alternative?

Eat, drink, dance and maybe even learn something new at a vegan festival. At NEVFEST (North East Vegan Festival) on this Sunday 15th November there will be vegan food, a craft fair, a fashion show, live music, children’s activities, live cookery demonstrations, a cinema room and much more. The festival throws open its doors at 10.30am at The Stadium of Light in Sunderland. If you’re in the area it’s definitely worth a visit.

Start planning now for a ‘cruelty free’ vegan Christmas. You’ll find some delicious dishes on the ‘Resources’ page of the Vegan Society website and more mouth-watering vegan recipes at BBC Good Food. There are also lots of inspiring bloggers and recipe sites to explore like One Green Planet where you’ll find ’25 Epic Christmas Themed Cookies’ just waiting to be tried!

For shopping ideas there are some truly tempting goodies on vegan blogger Naturally Meghan’s Gift Guide and check out Ethical Superstore’s Vegan Christmas Gift Guide too. If you’re in the Exeter area you might also like to pop along to Animal Aid’s Southwest Christmas Without Cruelty Festival at the Corn Exchange on Sunday 21st November where there will be gifts and cards on sale from both national and local companies and charities.
