Our entire, delicious Ice Cream Alternative range has just been awarded Kosher status, which means that it conforms to Jewish dietary laws. The main principles of Kosher have their origin in the bible and have been observed by Jews for over 3,300 years.
In order to gain certification each ingredient in our Ice Cream Alternative has been checked to ensure that it does not derive from a non-kosher source. Our premises have also been inspected and our production processes have been carefully scrutinised. We have been certified by KLBD Kosher Certification, which is a leading global kosher certification agency and we’ve worked closely with their rabbis, food technologists and food chemists to satisfy all their criteria.
Now that our Ice Cream Alternative is certified Kosher it is deemed ‘proper’ or ‘fit for consumption’ by Jews. Certification ensures reliability and strict traceability; the Kosher symbol identifies whether a product contains dairy or meat ingredients and provides the seal of approval ensuring that all the laws of Kosher have been incorporated throughout production. We love to know that as many people as possible are able to enjoy our gorgeous, dairy-free delights and we’re excited that Kosher certification opens the door for all Jews to discover the joys of our Booja-Booja Ice Cream Alternative.
We’re thrilled that our Ice Cream Alternative can now be found in the ‘Kosher Shop’ at ocado.com. It’s also available from hundreds of independent health food shops, delis, fine food stores and farm shops across the UK and in selected branches of Waitrose.
