This is a pretty exciting August for us here at Booja-Booja! It’s the first Summer that our new range of organic dairy-free ice creams has appeared in freezer cabinets across the UK. (It also happens to be ten years since we first launched ice cream as part of our offering!) The new flavours have taken their cues from the most elaborate of premium dairy ice creams and feature an abundance of nutty caramel sauces, fruity ripples and swoons of truffley swirls. They are the result of over a year’s intensive development by the Booja-Booja team to take dairy free ice cream into a whole new dimension. There are six flavours in the range including Caramel Pecan Praline, Chocolate Salted Caramel, Raspberry Ripple, Hazelnut Chocolate Truffle.
So, this is the Summer of Booja-Booja Ice Cream Parties! Some of our fabulous independent stockists are hosting their own ‘shop parties’ and you can join in the fun by hosting your very own Ice Cream Party too. Like the idea? Want some inspiration? Here are a few simple ideas for how to serve up an ice cream party at home…
Scoopa Doopa Serving Suggestions:
- vintage tea cups
- jam jars, with a small wooden spoon tied to the rim
- hollowed coconuts with edible flowers
- banana splits, using Booja-Booja ice cream instead of cream
- a teapot with lots of pretty teaspoons and teacups as bowls
- scooped out lemons, with the pointy lemon end as a lid

- small, clean, tin cans with a sprinkle of Norfolk lavender and raspberries, a taste of Norfolk summer!
- between homemade biscuits in an ice cream sandwich (we like ginger oat biscuits)

Ice Cream Recipe Twists:
Ice Cream Bubbly Floats: Add a small scoop of Booja-Booja’s Raspberry Ripple ice cream to a glass of your favourite Champagne or Prosecco. Serve in 1930s champagne glasses. Or try a scoop of vanilla ice cream in a cup of your favourite black coffee.
Milkshakes for Grown-Ups: Try serving up some sozzled ‘milkshakes’ with our Hunky Punky or Keep Smiling Vanilla M’Gorilla ice cream, a shot of amaretto, using your favourite almond or cashew milk. Serve in vintage milk bottles with paper straws.
Sunday Sundaes: Use ordinary champagne flutes or pretty glasses (a third filled with Booja-Booja ice cream). Supply various toppings in different jars including: nuts, berries, dried cherries, chocolate sauce, homemade fruit sauce etc so that guests can build their own sundaes.
Ice Cream Cup Cakes: For a twist on traditional ‘butterfly cakes’ – slice off the top of cupcakes and instead of butter icing, serve with a small scoop of Booja-Booja’s Caramel Pecan Praline ice cream and place the two ‘butterfly wings’ made from the leftover cupcake top. Serve immediately!
Warm Waffle Magic: there’s nothing quite like ice cream melting on to warm waffles. A scoop of Hunky Punky Chocolate and a few strawberries are the perfect partner for fresh warm waffles.
